The Client
Our client owned residential property very close to a football stadium in Luton. The client wanted to make sure that they were getting the best mortgage deal as their fixed-rate product was nearing an end. However, this proved to be a challenge. Lenders were reluctant to accept applications because they didn’t deem the property suitable for lending, being so close to a football stadium. This was due to the risk around saleability due to foot traffic and noise pollution on match days. The client resided in the home with their family, including two small children. They contacted Visionary Finance in the hopes of us finding an alternative solution.
The Solution
This is where our knowledge of lender processes and previous experience worked in our favour. We had previously worked with clients looking to obtain mortgages at an apartment building situated near a football stadium in Wimbledon. We knew we could use this as an example to speak to lenders if issues were raised around valuation.
