Taking the first step on the property ladder can be a daunting prospect and a challenge. But the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which was announced in March 2013, has been designed to give those struggling to get their first house deposit together. The initiative enables those who qualify to buy a new build home priced up to £600,000 with as little as 5% deposit.
Help to Buy: Equity Loan
This scheme is available if you are buying a new build home and it will be the only property you own. The Government will lend you 20% of the cost of your new build home so you will only require a minimum of a 5% deposit. We will then assist you to arrange your Help to Buy mortgage from any one of the registered lenders and keep you informed throughout the whole process.
Help to Buy London
In February 2016, the Government announced Help to Buy London enabling purchasers of new build properties in London to benefit from a Government equity loan of 40% of the value of the property.
As with the Help to Buy Equity Loan you will be required to contribute at least 5% of the value of the property and we will then help to arrange a mortgage for remaining 55% of the value up to a maximum value of £600,000.
Your Home or property maybe repossessed if you do not keep up on repayments of your mortgage or any other debt secured against it.
